Week 8 - FBC Desoto, Wamego UMC, FUMC Marble Falls, Believers Southern Baptist, Heritage UMC, FBC Groveland, Green Trails UMC & Aldan Union

Rosamond
FBC Desoto served alongside us at Bible Club Rosamond this week! The team ran a spy-themed Bible Club and the kids were super excited about it. At crafts, the kids made walkie-talkies from juice boxes, Poloroid ID badges, and toilet paper roll binoculars. All of the kids were so excited to show off their Polaroid pictures and couldn't believe that they could actually see through their binoculars! Each day at Bible story the kids learned a new chant to help them remember the most important parts of the stories. It was sweet to hear the kids chanting the good news of Jesus across Bible Club! Games station was also a blast this week from soccer and relay races to 9-square! Desoto brought snacks for the kids to take home every day and the kids were so excited about it! We are so thankful to have had FBC Desoto in town to run Bible Club Rosamond this week. Thank you for all of your hard work and energy.

Guernsey
Wamego UMC was hanging out on G-street this week! The team jumped off the bus and was ready to meet lots of kids! They went out and brought us back a summer high of 73 kiddos! The team had an interactive Bible story each day followed by a game to help them remember the message of the story. At crafts, each child got to make their very own coloring book! The kids were able to color a new picture every day that went along with the Bible story. Games was a blast all week long! The team led the kids in challenging relays, then our kids had to do them again blindfolded! The boys also played ultimate frisbee and had the best time. Songs was a rocking time this week as well. Wamego brought instruments for our kids to play along to the music! The team always had our kids up and dancing! Thank you, Wamego UMC, for a great week! We can’t wait to see what God has in store for next week!

Whittier
A huge shoutout to FBC Desoto for serving at Whittier for week 8! Our kids had soo much fun with Desoto and all their exciting activities. We had a summer high of 63 kids on Friday and we couldn’t be happier to love so many! FBC Desoto really connected with each child and loved them so well making them want to keep coming back every day. Every craft this week fit into the spy theme. Our kids made binoculars, juice box walkie talkies, an ID badge with a polaroid picture on it, a decoder, and a bookmark. The kids loved all the creativity and originality of these cool crafts! In games, they mastered a challenging obstacle course, ultimate trash can, the “cone game” and relays! In songs, they learned a Gospel chant, danced their little hearts out, played hot potato and learned a new game called “Protect the President.” The Bible story was interactive with giant posters and actions. The team also brought yummy snacks to go home with the kids every day which was definitely a hit. Thank you FBC Desoto for allowing another fantastic week of Bible Club at Whittier as well as for serving and loving Bible club babies there so well!

National
First United Methodist Church Marble Falls served well with us this week. National ran a high of 39 kiddos this week. Week 8 was so much fun! Our kids adored Bible story. Marble Falls brought an entire puppet stage to share valuable scriptural truths! We learned all about Jesus this week, from His birth to His time at the temple to Him teaching at Mary and Martha’s house. The puppets were engaging and the kids loved watching the show. Over at crafts, we built, colored and decorated! A couple favorite crafts of the week were decorating fun wells and designing and building lanterns that would glow at night! Our kids were so excited to take their crafts home, show them to parents, and tell them all about Bible Club this week! Everyone loved playing capture the flag, ultimate frisbee, ran relay races, and competing in kickball at game's station. In songs, the kids got to play freeze dance and Uno. Thank you, Marble Falls, for loving on our kids this week!

Johnson
Farewell Johnson! Believers Southern Baptist was in town this week, and we are so thankful to them for helping us close out the summer! It’s been an amazing summer at Bible Club Johnson. We have had so many amazing teams in and watched so many kids grow in their relationships with Christ and others. The kids, teams, and staff made so many amazing memories. Thanks to Believers Southern Baptist we got to spend quality time with our kids before saying goodbye until next summer! God blessed us with beautiful weather and sunshine all week long! Believers Southern Baptist finished the summer off well, with a high of 46 kids on Tuesday! The team taught our kids about Jesus walking on water and several of the other miracles that He performed. Our older kids asked a lot of questions and wanted to write their memory verses down so they could take them home to memorize! They also made crafts related to this weeks theme “In the Wild”. The older kids made little animals and glued googly eyes on them, and the little kids made noisemakers that looked like elephants. We all had a great time this week! Thank you, Believers Southern Baptist, for loving our kids so well this week!

Que Que
Heritage UMC rocked the earth at Que Que this week with a high of 45 kids on Thursday! Though they may have brought a small team that sure didn’t stop them from bringing a lot of love. Our kids celebrated their last week of Bible club with an assortment of games including jump rope, bean bag toss, and races. They continued the fun by making colorful crafts that they could take home and share with their parents. Songs station was always popping with dance battles and hot potato. Our boys probably had the most fun over at games this week. It was such a bittersweet week as team members and staff loved on the kids for the last time this summer. Friday consisted of many tears, hugs and I love you’s. During dismissal, our kids kept running up to us to say goodbye. Just as we were about to pull away, one of our 7-year-old boys yelled from his balcony, “Hey, I love you guys!” and all of our hearts melted. Every kid at Que Que gave us so many reasons to love them and even though our time with them is up we will never stop loving and praying for them. Thank you again, Heritage UMC, for loving our kids so well and helping us make our last week the best week! Until next summer, Que Que.

Pope
How is week 8 already over? First Baptist Church Groveland was at Pope for our last week, and we had such a good time at Bible Club! Our kids, especially our older girls, had a blast at songs station all week dancing to The Git Up and The Cha Cha Slide. At some points, all of our stations were doing the same dance and we had a dance-off across bible club! Our older boys loved the games station where they ran relay races and had a basketball tournament. Our youngest kids also loved games where they played with a parachute and tried to keep balls from falling off of the parachute. Our crafts station made salvation bracelets, door hangers, blindfolds, and a caterpillar that turned into a butterfly. All of the crafts tied into the Bible story and helped our kids remember how unique they were. In Bible story, our kids learned about Jesus’ life and about how he died on the cross to save us. A lot of our older boys became very serious about who Jesus was and what he did for us. FBC Groveland brought us a week high of 38 kids on Friday. A lot of team members were able to reunite with familiar faces throughout the week and our kids were so happy about it! Groveland, thank you for planning so many fun things for Pope bible club and loving our kids so well this week. We’ve had such a good time with all of our kids and we cannot wait to see what God does at Pope Bible Club next summer!

Kendrick
What a great week it was at Kendrick. Thank you so much to Green Trails UMC for all the love and energy that you poured into the kids this week.  We all thought that last week was the closing week at Kendrick, so it was a blessing to be able to pour a full additional week into the kid as well as the community. One of the sweetest moments of the week was two kids running up to bible club on Monday so excited saying, "You're back! You're back! You said last week was the final week, but you're back!" It was amazing to see the kids so excited to have another team and another week of games, songs, crafts, and stories. Bible story was great with week, and the kids were able to learn about the birth, life, and ministry of Jesus. The kids had so much fun at crafts were they were able to make Christmas ornaments, necklaces and headbands! Songs rocked it bringing some new songs for the kids to learn like the English version of "Zacchaeus was a wee little man" and the penguin dance! The fun continued at games where the kids had blast playing soccer, Mr. Bear, and tag! The missionaries from Green Trails did a great job creating relationships with the Kendrick kids by showing them what God's love looks like. It was so sweet to see how some kids who did not say one word on Monday, were laughing, singing, dancing, and answering every question at bible story by the end of the week. It shows that by giving your all the Christ, he can use things as simple as dancing like a penguin to open a child's eye to who Jesus is. Thank you so much to Green Trails for allowing us to see the Kendrick kids one more great week so full of love and for allowing the kids to see that Jesus was truly at the center of everything from bible story to games. Thank you for loving our kids so well and giving it your all. We are so excited to see how Jesus continues to work in the lives of the kids and community around Kendrick bible club.

Hill
My lighthouse, my lighthouse, shining in the darkness, I will follow You! Summer 2019 is coming to a close for Street Reach STL, and we could not ask for a better closing week here at Bible Club Hill. Big thanks to Aldan Union for their willingness to come and serve with us in St. Louis this week. The kids' favorite songs were beach party and, obviously, my lighthouse. They heard Bible stories about how Jesus healed the lepers, His birth, and why He died for us. One of our kids even accepted Jesus as his Savior this week! Hallelujah! Aldan Union helped the kids make Christmas ornaments, some hearts that showed how Jesus heals, fun bracelets, and crowns to show that Jesus is the true King. The kids loved ultimate football (the team's version of ultimate frisbee), Mr. Bear, sharks and minnows, and how many bubbles can we pop. Aldan Union, we could not have asked for a better closing week for Street Reach St. Louis 2019. Thank you once again for a great week!
