Week 3 - Stonebridge Church, Cross City Church, First Presbyterian Church of Exodus, St. Paul's UCC, Alto Reformed Church & Good Shepherd UMC

Rosamond

Stonebridge Church joined us at Rosamond this week, and it was an absolute blast! The team came prepared to pour their hearts and souls into Bible Club, and that is exactly what they did! The team was so patient and gracious with our kids. Stonebridge was intentional about building lasting relationships with the kids at Bible Club, and went out of their way to make everyone at Rosamond feel welcome and special! It was so sweet to see the team reconnect with kids from last summer and get to know the kids they hadn't met before. Bible Story was always creative and interactive, and the kids loved seeing the different picture Bibles the team used! Crafts station was a hit every day, but the kids especially enjoyed getting to frame and decorate Polaroid images of themselves! From parachutes and kickball to four corners, both games stations were full of fun and energy all week long!  We are so thankful to Stonebridge Church for putting so much effort and energy into loving on and having fun with our kids at Rosamond this week! It was truly a blessing to serve alongside you, Stonebridge.

Guernsey

Cross City Church made their first trip to Street Reach this week, and loved hanging out over on G-street! They loved the kids well, and we had a blast! The team brought high energy and lots of fun, which resulted in a high of 57 kids for the week! Our older boys loved getting competitive over in games station where they played lots of sharks and minnows and soccer. One day in crafts, the kids made sunflowers and got to write things they were thankful for on each one of the pedals. When I asked the kids what they wrote on the pedals multiple kids shouted “bible club” and then held their crafts up so proudly. It was so sweet to see how much our kids love and appreciate everything the teams do for them at Bible club! Multiple kids at Bible Club got to sit down with team members one on one to learn more about Christ’s love for them. It was amazing to see so many kids show interest in following Christ! Thank you so much for serving so well at G-Street, Cross City. We can’t wait to have you back!

Whittier

Once again, people from Oklahoma have treated us so well over at Whitvegas!! Huge shout out to First Presbyterian Church of Exodus for showing the love of Christ to our kids and community this week. We had over 50 kids one day this week, and the kids kept coming back for more fun as the week went on. The highlight of crafts this week was the cross necklace the kids made using their beads of choice. Songs station involved learning new songs, and playing Hot Potato and Down By the Bank, all of which were huge hits! Games were all sorts of fun, including the classics like Mr. Bear, relays, & Red Light Green Light! One of the sweetest things about Bible story this week was witnessing the kids work on memorizing the same verse every day, They began to catch on more and more as each day went by: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” - Mark‬ ‭12:30-31‬. Exodus, you not only taught the kids what these verses said and mean, but you were also awesome examples of how to live it out as well. Thank you so much for your investment in the lives of our kids this week. We appreciate y’all so much!

National

National was rockin’ this week! St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, thank you so much for serving with us this week. You loved our kids and our community so well! We ran a high of 55 precious kiddos this week. They learned about God’s love for them at Bible story through some incredible skits! The older boys and girls loved participating in the Bible story and by the time we got to crafts they could recite the whole story from memory. Speaking of crafts, the team planned the perfect crafts that all ages of our kids loved. The games and crafts stations loved so well through playing and listening to music. St. Paul’s exhibited Christ’s love in all they did; from carrying children the whole walking route to participating in the hot soccer games with the older boys, St. Paul’s was a great picture of Jesus. Bible story made the Bible truly come alive this week for our kiddos. Several kids each day got to participate as actors in the telling of the story. The parable of the prodigal son and Zacchaeus were two of the kids' favorites. St. Paul’s, Christ’s love was evident in all you said and did this week. Thank you so much.

Johnson

What a week at Johnson! Thank you, Alto Reformed Church, for coming all the way from Wisconsin to love on our kids! The kids learned all about creation and got to color crafts that went along with the story. The kids loved making horns with noisemakers inside and especially enjoyed using them in songs station as Samm played the guitar. On Thursday, the crafts team helped the kids make a lion mask. The kids loved to pretend to be lions and happily showed us their best roars! They loved learning a new song about how God created the whole world and said it was good. We also learned a lot of new games this week such as “lions and guards” and “God Says” (an alternate version of Simon Says). The kids also learned about Joshua and the Battle of Jericho. They had so much fun marching around the “tree of Jericho”. God was good to us this week and held off the rain, for the most part anyway. We also passed up last week’s summer high with thirty-five kids, on Thursday! Even though it was hot, the team fought through it and loved our kids well. It was a great week and we look forward to seeing everything God is going to do the rest of the summer.

Que Que

Top of the morning to ya, lads! Street Reach week 3 was a BLAST over at club Que Que - with an average of 38 kids each day coming to learn about Christ's greatest commandments: the golden rule, forgive others, give thanks to God and of course, love the Lord your God with all your Heart and with all your Strength and with all your Soul. Shout outs to our missionaries from Good Shepherd UMC for being so involved with the children. From building crosses at crafts to singing and dancing at songs to the super bowl cheer squad at games, these missionaries poured out their attention and affections on to these kids - two of their most desperate needs. One of my favorite special moments of the week was when 4 year old Caiden was about to throw a stick. But suddenly the other 4-year-old Caden ran up and grabbed the stick shouting, "No! You gonna get time out!" He took the stick and turned around and kindly handed it to me. Hahaha! What a hero! And we all made sure he knows what a great decision he had made to look out for his friend. Please pray for these kids as they continue to grow. And pray that God will continue to send flexible, loving missionaries like these. So long as He does, then this is going to continue to be one incredible summer!

Pope

P – O – P – E! That is where you wanna be! Cross City Church was out at Pope Bible Club this week and what a fun week it was. Our older boys had a lot of fun playing in the games station this week where they played Sharks and Minos and a couple games of soccer. Our youngest kids had tons of fun using a blow-up beach ball to learn how to play kickball. In Bible story, our older kids loved being able to talk about all the things that they are thankful for in their lives. Our older girls began asking lots of questions about who God is and how He loves us in bible story at the end of the week. Our youngest kids loved the songs station where they sang and danced to a lot of different worship songs and Baby Shark. All of our kids loved crafts this week where they made salvation bracelets on Thursday. Each of our kiddos had a ton of fun making the bracelets and were able to tell us what each color meant on the bracelet. On Friday, our middle-aged group of kids had the most fun decorating their own coin banks that were made out of Pringles cans. Cross City Church, we are so thankful for you and how well you loved our community this week!
