Week 8-Marathon, Old Town Baptist, Grace Baptist, Welcome Wesleyan

NATIONAL

Old Town Baptist came to serve as Christ's hands and feet at National this past week. What a blessing they were as the summer closed out. We were able to witness to over 100 kids each day because of their passion to canvas, knocking on doors and wanting the light to be made known in a desperate community. Throughout the week, their passion didn't ever fail to cease and each day kids were getting poured into. With so many hands to serve this week, there were many times I would be able to witness one on one conversation with a child, knowing they were being fed, and that was encouraging knowing that this was the last week to pour out Jesus and His love into their lives and it actually happened. It was a wonderful closer week to National and to all the ways He has moved and worked in a mighty way this summer. For Christ is most magnified and glorified for all the lost souls, saved, and to all kids with seeds planted in their hearts this summer. Old Town Baptist, thanks for serving and leaving it all out there this week. National has been richly blessed and consumed by Christ this summer, so thank you to all the teams that have poured their hearts into these kids, poured Jesus into these kids, and poured countless prayers into National.-Gaby

KENDRICK

For those teams reading the blog and checking up on your Kendrick kids, fear not!  The staff was able to go run a Bible Club at Kendrick on Wednesday even though there weren't enough teams to work it.  The kids had a blast getting to come out for one last day of the summer.  God has blessed this neighborhood with all of the wonderful missionaries who came to serve.  So thank you all SO much.  We ended the summer on a great note, and the kids are excited an ready for next year! -Holly

GUERNSEY

I can’t believe its over, but what a way to go out!  Marathon was in from South Carolina to close out our summer at Guernsey and they did an awesome job!  Monday set a new record for us with 77 kids at club, and things only went up from there.  After all the kids saw what a great time we were having they started bringing all their friends.  By Friday we had 99 kids at club and it was awesome! For our last day, Marathon had rented an ice cream truck to come by club.  You’d think it would be crazy with 99 kids, but our kids and our team were awesome and I loved every minute of it.  It’s been awesome to watch these kids grow over the past two months and we’re going to miss spending our weeks with them, but we made sure everyone knew how much we love them and more importantly how much God loves them.  Everybody had a blast this week: the team left everything out on the field, the kids were loved on, and the Gospel was shared, and that’s what we call a successful Bible Club.  Thanks to Marathon for a great week!  We love you guys and can’t wait to have you back in Memphis! -Kacie

ROSAMOND

This week at Rosamond we had Welcome Wesleyan from South Carolina.  They came very prepared with a bean bag toss game and had a ball toss game during free play.  We started the week with 44 kids and ended the week with 48 kids on Friday.  Welcome Weselyan did a great job closing the summer out at Rosamond by making Bible club fun for the kids and teaching them about Daniel and the lion’s den.  One of our older boys from Buchanan committed his life to Christ on Thursday.  Thank you Welcome Weslyn for making this a fun last week at "Ross-a-mond" for Miss Kimberly and Miss Justine!  We will miss you and our Rosamond kids very much! -Kimberly

JOHNSON

What a great week we had to finish off Street Reach 2012 at Johnson! Marathon church was here and they had an awesome time hanging out with the kids at Johnson. It was clear to see that many of the kids were sad that the summer was coming to a close, but they still had a week left to have the love of God poured into them. From the very start, Marathon was passionate about going to get as many kids as they could for Bible Club. The kids really enjoyed the stations that Marathon had for them. They could tell that the team had put a lot of time into the Bible Club and they were excited to be there. After the Bible stories this week, the kids really wanted to know more in crafts. They were asking for scripture to be written on their crafts, and then they were wanting to read them out of a Bible! Many of the older kids this week that are normally bored and asking to go home, were wanting us to stay longer.  At the end of the week, several of the kids had questions about Christ. They saw Christ in many of the team members this week and throughout the summer. It was really cool to see what God was doing in the hearts of these kids, whether one could see it or not. This summer changed so many lives and brought hope to several kids in the community. Marathon did a great job being used by Christ this week, and they were changed by this trip as well.-Jonathan

We want to give a special thanks to all of the teams who participated this summer at Street Reach! We could not have done it without you guys.  What you have done will not be forgotten and the kids have truly been impacted by your love! Thank you and we will see you next year!

Week 7: Calvary, Parkway Southern, Parkway Baptist, PIckensville

POPE

Pope's last week of the summer was a hit with Parkway Southern running things!  We broke a record on Tuesday with 55 kids at Bible Club; brand new kids, regulars, and kids who hadn't come since the beginning of the summer combined!  The team loved the kids and even remembered some of them from three years ago.  Everyone had a good time with cute crafts, silly songs, exciting games, and good Bible stories.  An older boy accepted Christ, and what better way to end the summer?  Thank you, Parkway Southern, for a great last week! –Holly

LEAHY'S

Week 7 at Leahy's was amazing! Calvary West came in with a group so eager and ready to love on these kids and reach them with the Gospel, and we had some really cool things happen this week. One day, the doors to the church bus wouldn't close, and so before and during Bible Club we had a few team members working on it and trying to get to the bottom of what was wrong. Meanwhile, an eleven-year-old who just started coming this week with his cousins started asking a lot of questions over in his group. One of the team members who was going through things on the bus trying to figure out the problem with the doors happened across some Spanish Bibles that no one had even known were on the bus. About the same time as he was finding those, the eleven-year-old was hearing the Gospel from another team member. God used the problem with the bus doors (which after that started working!) to show us where the Bibles were, at just the right time for this boy to get one! It was just one example of how perfect God's timing is, and how faithful He is to orchestrate every detail and work all things together for good according to His will. We also had a blow-out number of kids this week--it went from 36 on Monday to 53 on Friday! It was a great way to end the summer for Leahy's, which will have one last day of Bible Club when a group of us staff run it on Monday. Thank you so much to all who have been praying!! God is answering! -Kala

JOHNSON II

Wow!  Last week we had 12 sites running and this week we were able to open 14!  God is truly blessing us this summer so that we are able to reach out to even more areas. This week I was moved from Guernsey in order to open a new club over near the original Johnson site.  My team from Calvary’s middle school ministry was able to have a site just for the Johnson Circle kids and the management there allowed us to use an open lot behind their office. This opportunity was extra special to me because Johnson Circle is the first neighborhood that I ever visited when I was on a team coming in to serve with Street Reach. It was really neat to see a smaller Johnson crowd come out, and some of the tougher kids opened up a little more simply because of the one on one time we could spend with them. I even had a few older kids come by that I haven’t seen in years just to say Hi (they remembered the team that I used to come to Street Reach with and asked about many of the members.)  That just goes to show that the one week you guys spend with our kids makes a difference. These kids don’t just forget about you when you go home, but they wait for you to come back again and again.  We love you guys at Calvary and can’t wait until next year!
-Kacie

JACKSON

Last week in staff meeting Jason made an announcement that we would be running 14 bible club sites this week. One bible club would be a brand new site by Jackson Elementary School. The children in this area have never heard of bible clubs. This site was inspired when some favorite Whittier children moved into a nearby apartment complex. Behind that apartment complex was an enormous park perfect for a bible club site.  A team from Parkway Baptist Church gave the children in this area a spectacular week of bible club. We all felt the weight of only having one week with these children. The gospel was shared with all of the children multiple times and the kids were loved on. Friday we were blessed to have 52 kids at Jackson. All of the kids loved bible club and it was an amazing week to see God work. Keep praying that teams will come in to run Jackson more weeks in the future. -Erica

VERNON

The all girl team from Pickensville came in and did an awesome job at Vernon this week! Monday we set a record with 36 kids! Vernon is such a fun site to work at because it’s small enough to have a ton of one on one time with the kids, but big enough to be super loud at songs! My girls did such a great job of keeping things running smoothly to maximize the kids’ fun at Bible club. It was great to see God work through these young women; seeing their passion for these children was very encouraging and special! “We’re from Vernon couldn’t be prouder…” -Cassie

WHITTIER

With part of Calvary's Jr. High Team leading Whittier this week, God used the team members in amazing ways. As his vessels, the team members were able to minister to over 40 kids consistently. The week started off strong with just over 50 kids, and the story of Joseph throughout the week allowed the kids to learn that God can bring good things out of what we may think are bad situations. One little boy named Kevin was thrilled about the dreams that God gave to Joseph. He also thought it exciting that "Heaven", where God lives, rhymes with "Kevin", his name. After talking to the site missionary, Kevin prayed that God would live in his heart. Kevin understood that he couldn't do enough good things to get to heaven unless Jesus lived inside of him. Praise the Lord that the minds of the children were receptive to the work that these missionaries were called here to do, and thank you to the Whit-Vegas team from Calvary for being His hands and His shoulders. -Josh

ROSAMOND

What a great week at Rosamond this week!  Parkway Baptist Church from St. Louis was in town and the Lord brought out over 50 kids.  We had games, crafts, and Bible story this week and the kids had a lot of fun.  It was fun for me to talk to the kids and reminisce about some of the fun things we did the different weeks of the summer and they can remember so many previous team members’ names! Thanks to the Chapel Hill team, the kids were singing “Mercy is Falling” at club and told me they sing it at home as well.  This week the kids learned the stories of Joseph and it was amazing for me to sit down at Bible story and see how many of the kids new the answers to the questions.  We are still continuing to get a lot of children from the apartments and Buchanon.  Thanks to all the teams who worked so hard canvasing those areas! Thank you Parkway for giving the children at Rosamond a fun week!

NATIONAL

Parkway Southern Baptist Church from Indiana came in this past week to pour their love out on these kids this week at National. What a blessed week it was. We grew in numbers each day ending the week with 66 kids which was a blessing reaped right away each day. While others were conversations with kids this week and teaching them about Christ and His Word that I found out about later and what a blessing that is, knowing kids are learning and growing in what faith is and what having faith looks like. It was a blessing being able to serve along side of some of the community from this church and a blessing partnering with them to reach lost souls because they are unreached until they become reached. Thanks for a great week Parkway Southern. –Gaby

JOHNSON

This week there was a team from Calvary and it was there Junior High group. Many of the kids on the team that were working at Johnson had never been on a mission trip before! They did not know it at first, but they were in for a great week. They pulled of a great Bible Club for their first time, and they were extremely flexible throughout the week. The kids at the Bible Club were excited to see some younger kids that were closer to their age. They connected well with each other, and they had a real passion for the community by the end of the week. One of the cool things that happened this week was one of the kids that received a Bible last week from a team was bringing it with him to club. He also told me that he had been reading it every night. God is doing some very good things in the lives of these kids and it’s sad that we only have one week until the summer is over. This team made a lasting impact on the kids, and they were a blessing to everyone in the community! -Jonathan

Week 6- Calvary, FBC Sparta, Blue Ridge, Old Shooting Creek, FBC Bamburg, Chapel Hill, Corinth, and Silverdale

NATIONAL

This week National was run by First Baptist from Sparta, TN. It was a wonderful week serving with them. To help with all the kids God has been sending to National, Vernon and Treadwell were opened for kids to be be loved on as Christ says to and have more attention centered toward them. With those opening, we were able to walk a couple new routes and tap into an area of the community we have yet to this summer. New kids were brought into the light and a few kids that have been coming all summer were led to Christ by this team. This shows seeds being planted in new kids lives and seeds being reaped and harvested by teams each week pouring their hearts into these precious lives. Sparta, thanks for an awesome week of your willingness to serve and further the kingdom of Christ.-Gaby

WHITTIER

What a fantastic week! Not only was the weather perfect but the plans that God had in store for Street Reach and Whittier this week were extraordinary. Old Shooting Creek led the Bible Club at Whittier and had an awesome passion to reach out to whatever number of kids that the Lord sent their way. Starting off the week with 27 kids and then continuing on to minister to a summer record of 62 kids on Thursday was amazing. The kids learned the importance of missions through a "Missions and Music" station, and enjoyed reciting the memory verse of the week. The excitement, energy and love that Old Shooting Creek helped express not only during Send-Off, but during devotions, Bible Club and afternoon projects encouraged other missionaries working around them. Thank you to Old Shooting Creek for making the most of what God gave you every day! -Josh

JOHNSON

What a great week we had at Johnson! A group from Calvary in Georgia came to run Bible Club and they did an awesome job! The kids had a lot of fun this week and they enjoyed all the games and activities Calvary provided for them. The love of God was definitely shown to all the kids that came out this week. Even in the rain, the kids still came out to be with the team and hear about Jesus. Calvary came with several props for their Bible story and made it very interactive for the kids. The kids were able to experience taking the Ark of the Covenant across the Jordan River. They were also shown how the lives of the Apostles were changed after the Holy Spirit came. In games they had a lot of fun playing in the collapsible tunnels and three legged races. Everyone had a great time this week, and it was a blessing to have Calvary here with us! -Jonathan

KENDRICK

Just when you think things can't get any better, God shows you otherwise!  We had an amazing week at Kendrick with Old Shooting Creek.  The temperature stayed in the 80s all week and we had tons of shade.  The only day it rained at Bible Club was in Friday and everyone still had a blast.  With the awesome, hard work of our team members, we broke another record for the summer, ministering to 55 kids two days in a row!  The team's passion for the Lord and love for the kids was constantly evident as they loved on the younger kids and kicked it with the older ones.  We were able to reach out to four 13 and 14-year-old boys in the neighborhood; the gospel was shared with them and on Friday, Kenny accepted Christ!  I'm still amazed when I look back on this week and think of all the love that was shared and glory that was given to God.  Thank you for a third wonderful year, Old Shooting Creek! -Holly

TREADWELL

With a chance of rain every day this week, the Treadwell team from FBC Sparta prayed without ceasing for the rain to stay away. And God answered that prayer, the rain held off and we were blessed to have Bible Club each day this week. The team did a great job and they were able to love on a week high of 64 kids this week. Treadwell has been well prayed over as it is a newer site. The team and I stood amazed as we counted 64 kids who came out for its first week up and  running The kids loved every minute of it and the team did as well. God is definitely stirring the hearts of the kids at the Treadwell Bible club site and the kids are ready for more. Incredibly excited to see His plan unfold in the weeks to come.
A huge thanks again to the FBC Sparta team for all of their hard work towards furthering His Kingdom. -Jake

VERNON

Opening a new site is always tough, but it was anything but a challenge for the team from Bamberg First Baptist Church in Bamberg, SC. This first-time team came to Memphis ready to be the hands and feet of Christ by loving on the kids from Vernon Avenue and Rockwood Avenue. They did an awesome job of canvassing the area and brought back 31 kids on Monday! Throughout the week, the children enjoyed singing songs along with a radio, playing games in the back yard, listening to a Bible story on a big blue tarp, and making fun crafts on the porch! The team and Bible club kids had a hard time saying goodbye to each other at the end of the week, it’s awesome to see God work in both of them in just one short week! Excited to see what happens next week at Vernon! -Cassie

KIPPLEY

This week was incredible!  The weather may not have been desired but that never stopped Silverdale for loving on kids and really giving it their all! We hit 53 kids this week, our highest number yet!  It was great!  Silverdale had so much passion and love for the kids it was exciting to see.  Also exciting to see was two of our kids accepting Jesus into their hearts this week!  I had so much fun at Kippley this week!  Next week will be tons a fun! -Kaden

LEAHY'S

Week 6 at Leahy's was wonderful! First Baptist Bamberg brought in a team full of people eager to love on our kiddos, and they did a great job with that. The kids had fun, and it was neat to see the way the team brought Bible story into the other stations sometimes when the kids finished their crafts before it was time to head on to the next station. One of our four-year-olds started asking questions about Jesus, and Eddie got the opportunity to tell him about creation, the fall, and Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection. When he finished, the boy asked if it all really happened. Eddie told him it did, and the boy exclaimed, "Wow...Someone should have written that down!" The best part? This little boy went home with a Bible that day, so now he has the opportunity to learn even more about Jesus and hear about the rest of what God has done. -Kala

POPE

This week was incredible!  The weather may not have been desired but that never stopped Silverdale for loving on kids and really giving it their all! ROSAMOND

We had a lot of help at Rosamond this week with 20 team members from Chapel Hill Baptist Church from Alabama. They were so good about going to get kids and we finally got 6 children off of Buchanon.  We had four stations this week and the kids really enjoyed them all.  All of the kids participated in songs and learned about His marvelous light through hand motions!  Chapel Hill brought soccer balls for the kids to play with and gave them all Cliff bars.  More than anything, the kids received some individual attention from the team members and there was rarely a moment where a child was involved in some activity.  It was a beautiful sight to see all of the kids learning about Jesus and having fun with it! Thank you Chapel Hill for your willingness to serve Memphis this week! -Kimberly

Praise the Lord for sending us almost 200 missionaries this week and we were able to open 12 sites! We had a high of 574 kids come to Bible club this week!

Week 5- Mt Zion, West Hartselle, Journey Point, Bethany Baptist, and Liberty

POPE

This week at Pope was such a blast!  Kaden and I had so much fun working with Mt. Zion Baptist Church from Kaden’s neck of the woods in Arkansas!  We ministered to 43 on Tuesday and had a blast with 37 kids on the 4th of July!  It was a celebration at Pope when Street Reach made lunches, free T-shirts, and popsicles.  Mt. Zion rocked the site with great Bible stories and songs; the games were so amusing and fun and the crafts were precious!  It was great having both Kippley and Pope kids at the site and being able to minister to them.  Next week will be amazing because of all the hard work Mt. Zion did this week!  -Aimee

NATIONAL

Fourth of July weeks are always interesting as to which teams will come in town on the holiday week. We were blessed at National to have 9 people from West Hartselle Baptist join us in our ministry with the kids. The week consisted of continual passion from the team. They served whole-heartily and gave everything they had. It was so cool to see the males on the team interact with the kids at bible club, invest in the older boys and show the kids how a man who loves God acts.
One afternoon of this week the team was able to cut grass at a house on Vernon Ave.          They prepared this lot for a new bible club starting the week of July 9th for the children who live on Rockwood and Vernon. We are excited to see what God does with this new bible club location.
During this holiday week it was cool to see the different kids who attended bible club. Some of our usual kids were out of town and new kids attended our bible club because they were visiting the area for the holiday.
Thanks be to God for all the teams who attended this week especially Jeremy, John, Stephen, Ashley, Kelsey Rae, Nathan, Maggie and Braden!!!!!
WE ARE NATIONAL BOOM!!!!! -Erica

LEAHY'S

Week 5 seems to have flown by so fast, but at the same time it was a
really great one, with an awesome team from Journey Point. Our Junior
Staffer, Eddie, returned this week, so we had quite a few excited kids
on Monday. The heat and a few issues with dogs did not stop everyone
from having loads of fun this week, and we had a great turnout. We had
over fifty kids show up two days this week!
-Kala

WHITTIER

What an awesome 4th of July week at Whittier! Bethany Baptist came in
excited and ready to serve with an overwhelming passion for this site,
even though almost all of them were first timers here at Street Reach!
It barely took any time for the team to feel comfortable and at home
at Whittier. It was so encouraging to see this team ready to be used
for the Lord.
We had a high of 46 kids on Tuesday, which is pretty stinkin good for
the day before the 4th of July! Praising and thanking God for another
amazing week at Whit-Vegas. Excited to see what next week brings as
Josh takes the site on by himself! "... That's what you get for
hangin' at Whit-Vegas!!!" -Cassie

JOHNSON

This week at Johnson was amazing with the group we had in from Liberty Texas. The team was split between two sites and the other half was at Guernsey. They were ready to go out and have a great time with the kids at the Bible club this week. With the 4th of July that came on Wednesday, the team still had several kids coming out even though there were many other activities going on. We were blessed with clear weather this week, but it was pretty hot on some days. This was nothing a group from Texas could not handle, and they stayed strong throughout the week. The children were very attentive in the Bible story. They heard about Jesus feeding 5,000 men with only 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread and they had leftovers. The kids also heard about how Jesus walked on water, and that they can trust Him in every circumstance. At the end of the week everyone seemed to be sad that they were leaving, but I’m sure the kids will not soon forget them. I am very glad that Liberty was able to come this week, and they were just as much a blessing to the staff as they were to the community! -Jonathan

KENDRICK

Bethany Baptist Church definitely made a big boom at the Kendrick site this week!  Their love and passion for ministering to the kids was inspirational and made for a fun Bible Club every day.  The team really did well at explaining the gospel to the kids and by the end of the week there was a handful of them who had accepted Christ or wanted to learn more about him.  The kids also loved their crafts, dancing to praise and worship music, and playing their heart out at games.  There were 42 kids on and out on Monday and they kept coming back throughout the week.  Bethany, thank you for lighting the fuse, and remember: work hard, play hard, be hard to beat, and never forget! -Holly

GUERNSEY

Week five was most definitely a successful one for Guernsey. With blazing hot temperatures and extravagant Fourth of July parties, the week was off to a slow start. But because of the passion and excitement of the students of First Baptist Church of Liberty, Texas, our site was overflowing with energetic kids by Friday. Team members were more than willing to carry kids on their backs and necks, reaching kids from extensive routes and distances. There were many first time team members, as well as Bible club kids, but all who participated meshed so well, creating a beautiful picture of Christ's love and the relationship he craves with us. A memorable experience is Wednesday, July 4th. Because Memphis City Schools does not provide lunch for our kids on this holiday, team members joined together that morning to make delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that the kids highly enjoyed. It was a fun experience for all, giving team members and opportunity to serve their kids. All in all, the entire week was a blessing to each individual, whether Texan or Tennesseean! -Emily

ROSAMOND

This week at Rosamond was a unique one with it being the Fourth of July but our kids still showed up! Our team this week was the youth from West Hartselle from Alabama along with the wonderful Brenda and Rob.  The Lord was at work and we had two of our older children pray to receive Christ.  A lot of the kids are reading the Bibles that Mountain View gave them the previous week and asking me how to read the Bible.  West Hartselle played disc golf with the children, ran water relays, and took pictures of all the children to give to them.  On the fourth of July, the kids were treated with PB&J sandwiches and a bag of chips.  Please pray that this God would be present at Rosamond, “You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.” Isaiah 25:4.-Kimberly
Sorry for the delay in the post- We experienced some technical difficulties with the Internet! Week 6 post coming on Sunday!

Week 4: Mountain View, Providence, Trinity, Boone's Chapel, New Blackwell, Medina, Ellendale, FBC Brunswick, and Epworth

POPE

This week I was back at Pope and it was awesome!  The Lord really provided this week with an amazing team whose passion and energy was evident to the very end!  Providence came prepared and energetic to walk on the streets on love on some kids.  We stayed consistent all week and reached 43 kids on Thursday to share the Word of the Lord with!  The children had such a blast at all the stations this week with a comic book Bible in Bible story and new games.  Crafts were always hit this week as were songs; the kids even wrote their own song about how to succeed!  It was such a God-filled week at Pope and only more great things to come! To God be the Glory!  -Aimee

NATIONAL

This week was a very special week for many reasons. We had the wonderful pleasure of welcoming back Trinity Baptist Church to National. Four years in the making, this precious church is very near and dear to my heart. Four years ago we stood in the front of the park and got down on our knees and prayed for God to move in the hearts of the families on the surrounding streets. I distinctly remember praying for God to send us children, 40 to be exact, that second week of the 2009 summer. God brought us the 40 children by the Friday of that week. God is faithful to answer the prayers of those who call out to Him and this week the team said bring it on Lord as many kids as you want us to have we will love on them. On Wednesday Gaby and I stood in awe as we counted 109 children intently participating in all of the stations. This group was fully used by God this week and poured themselves out completely. The kids were all given attention and love this week and incredible things happened. On Friday they prayed over the site, the kids and the teams to come behind them. They truly are our National prayer warriors Thank God for Trinity Baptist!

-Erica

LEAHY'S

Week 4 at Leahy's was a blast! Boone's Chapel came in from Alabama and did an awesome job loving on our kiddos and keeping them engaged at all four stations--Bible story, songs, crafts, and games. We also got to go further out on some of the side streets near the trailer park and bring in some new kids from there. Everything ran really smoothly, and even though this week was the hottest yet this summer, kids and team alike had tons of fun. Miss Jake, who will be running Treadwell eventually, also got to join us for a few days. To sum it up, we had a great group of people serving a truly great God at Leahy's this week! -Kala

WHITTIER

The half-way point for the summer was an exciting and strong time for Whittier. New Blackwell was here and brought passion and excitement for the kids. Whit-Vegas was able to hit a record number for the summer of 61 kids on Wednesday and still stayed strong to finish out the week with the number of kids consistently over 50. That is a lot of kids that were ministered to this week by missionaries from New Blackwell. While the numbers of the kids were great, the activities within Bible Club were awesome as well. It is amazing how well the kids respond to, "Find Your Bubble!", even after just learning what that means. At the end of Bible Club every day, the team treated the kids to a puppet show. It was what each kid looked forward to and allowed a new way to minister. Thank you New Blackwell for a week that will be hard to forget and for lending your excitement. -Josh

JOHNSON

This week we had a team from Medina who came to serve at Johnson. We had several kids come out to play with them and hear the Bible stories they told. One mother this week told me that her 3 year old daughter had been telling her the Bible stories she had been hearing at club! Even as it got very hot outside, we still had near 70 kids come out to Bible Club! The team put in a lot of hard work this week, and we had a great time together! -Jonathan

KENDRICK

Kendrick got a treat this week by being able to work with local Ellendale Baptist church! The team was so excited to share Jesus. The kids learned in Bible story that they aren't the kings of their own lives--God is the king! They were even able to take home a miniature version of the week's story at the end of the week. Every station was new and exciting to the kids with fun stuff like live guitar music, rockets, wearable crafts, corn hole, and an interactive white board! Ellendale stayed strong throughout the week and brought their own flair to Kendrick. We set a personal 2012 record of 53 kids! Thanks Ellendale, it was a great week! –Holly

GUERNSEY

The Guernsey kids were super excited about our team this week and had an awesome time at club. FBC Brunswick was in town and they were incredible- being filled with passion, a willing spirit, and infinite flexibility lead to a great time at Guernsey.  Some of our walk-ups even came to club early everyday to help Mr. Dave set up the site! Kids were coming up to me left and right telling me about Gospel conversations that they’d had with team members and like wise the team members were just as excited to tell me about them.  With intense heat this week, the team was prepared with 5 easy-up tents and great attitudes that definitely rubbed off on my kiddos. One afternoon we were able to take “The Jackson” (our mobile sports trailer) to Guernsey and our kids loved it.  The FBC Brunswick group were “prepared for anything” and gave the kids a great time with a second round of hanging out with them that day. We were able to review our Bible story because many of the kids at the sports camp had not been at club that day.  The team had also brought along a ton of brand new basketballs and as our kids were dismissed each child was able to take a basketball home with them.  Needless to say the Guernsey kids and Street Reach already miss you guys and hope to see you back next year! Remember that Kacie, Big Em, A Charm, and the GStreet kids love you guys! -Kacie

ROSAMOND

This week at Rosamond was a fun and hot week!  Mountain View Baptist Church came to Street Reach again this summer with some previous experience and sweet spirits.  We entered into the Rosamond II area and ended up having 59 kids come with new and old faces.  The older kids had a blast playing kickball, wiffle ball, and telling the younger kids to “circle up” when it was time to go. Miss Kimberly and Margie were able to talk with some of the kids one on one about their knowledge of the gospel and share more with them.  The kids really enjoyed one of the members from Mountain View that came on Wednesday to impersonate a monkey and sing “Boom Chica Boom”.  We were sad to say good bye to our summer school kids since summer school is now over, but they will be going to other Bible club sites.  We still have an exciting rest of the summer left at Rosamond so stay tuned! -Kimberly

KIPPLEY

Week 4 of Street Reach Summer 2012 was blessed with the opportunity to run another site, Kippley. The Epworth United Methodist Church from Franklin, Tennessee laid a great foundation for the following weeks at Bible club Kippley. At any given time kids could be seen coloring a beautiful array of imagination down on paper, playing a bookoo of fun games, going crazy singing those classic bible club favorites, and listening to a story straight from God's Word. Despite the heat, the team fought for these kids and their daily dose of Jesus' Love, and their toil was not in vain. By the end of the week, a bond was formed between the kids and team; a bond that still lives on in the prayers that Epworth continues to offer for their friends here in Memphis. Uncertain of each child's future, each team member poured all they had into the kids for every ounce of time they were fortunate enough to have. Surely God is an awesome God and i know that these kids could see it in the team this past week. I know because I did too.-Kaden
